Hello I'm Chief Williams and on behalf of the officers of the Vance Police Department, I welcome you to our homepage.

Vance is an exciting place to live, work, or visit and our team, consisting of myself and two dedicated full-time officers and four reserve officers, are completely committed to making sure your time here is safe and enjoyable. It is our mission is to protect life and property and to provide extraordinary public service to our growing residential, business and industrial population. We are proud of what we do and the difference we can make and it is a privilege for us to have the opportunity to serve. Please let us know whenever we can be of help.

An essential element of our ability to serve the community is to work together with residents , business owners, and others who make up our town. The department is actively working to establish and maintain strong relationships with the community and we ask that you share with us any ideas you have about those opportunities. Again, please feel free to call or e-mail us with any networking ideas or opportunities. The Police Department wants to work closely with our community in maintaining the high quality of life enjoyed by the residents of one of Alabama’s most rapid developing communities .

Departmental News :

December 14, 2009 : Chief Williams was appointed an Honorary Alabama State Trooper, by the Alabama Department of Public Safety.

November 6, 2009 : Congratulations to Officer Steven Stelk. Officer Stelk has completed the FBI Police Firearms Instructor Course conducted at APOSTC Academy -Tuscaloosa. Stelk's certification and knowledge will greatly benefit our department.

October 23, 2009 : Chief Williams has graduated from the 21st Annual (SLEDS) - FBI Regional Command College, in Florence. SLEDS was sponsored both by the Florence Police Department and FBI-Birmingham. The course was conducted by instuctors of the FBI Academy-Quantico, VA.
